Shrewsbury High Speed Chase

A 25-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after police were led on a pursuit on New Scotland Line.

Chatham-Kent police say Saturday just before 3pm, officers tried to make a traffic stop near Shrewsbury, when the driver accelerated and took off.

Police say the driver continued to avoid police for 2 km, ignoring traffic signs along the way. Eventually he lost control of the vehicle and got stuck in a side yard.

Now, a 25-year-old man is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, driving under suspension and plates unauthorized. He has been released with a future court date.
