Driver Charged And Car Impounded

A Wallaceburg man lost his girlfriend's car for a week after police caught him driving even though his licence is suspended.

Chatham-Kent police say at about 4:30am, a patrol officer stopped a car travelling unusually slow on James St., suspecting the driver was impaired.

It turned out the driver wasn't impaired but his licence is under suspension.

The 54-year-old man faces three counts of driving while under suspension and the car, which belongs to his girlfriend, was impounded for seven days.
