Donuts Lands Merlin Teen Charges

A 17-year-old from Merlin is facing charges after a vehicle was spotted doing donuts.

An officer observed the vehicle behind Merlin Public School shortly before 10:30pm last night. As the cruiser entered the school yard, police say the driver accelerated and sped away. The driver eventually pulled over on Aberdeen St.

The teen is charged with driving with no licence, driving with no insurance, failing to comply with a previously imposed court curfew, and mischief under $5,000. He was later released with a future court date.

Damage to the grass in the school yard is pegged at $1,000.
