Ferry's Rate Hike Cancelled

A planned rate hike for the Walpole Island-Algonac Ferry is off the table, so you won't have to pay more to cross the St. Clair River.

One-way fare for passenger traffic on the Ferry was set to go up to $10 today, but the service's website now says, "The one-way vehicle rate will remain at $7."

There's also a note on the site apologizing for any inconvenience the short notice may have caused.
