Efficiency In Chatham-Kent

Chatham-Kent Council has ordered administration to formally look for efficiencies in their work.

Councillor Trevor Thompson proposed the move, citing the Lean Six Sigma program as an example of a potential model.

CAO Don Shropshire says they've yet to look in-depth at the Six Sigma system. "There have been parts of the municipality that have used it in the past. When Councillor Thompson made the motion he used it as an example. Certainly it's one that has received a lot of attention in the past, but there are others as well."

Council has also approved a look into council and mayoral compensation, with any changes taking effect in 2018.
