TEDx Sells Out Again

TEDx Chatham-Kent is a sell out for the second straight year.

The event got underway around 9am at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre and wraps-up around 6pm. Co-organizer Fannie Vavoulis says they do have to follow certain criteria. "TEDx has very strict guidelines on the whole entire event," says Vavoulis. "We have to follow everything from what the speakers can present to the audio/visual, to the number of attendees, and because it's a community x, x stands for the community part of it, we're only allowed to sell 100 tickets."

Speakers from across Ontario, Canada and the U.S. are sharing personal stories, providing inspiration and getting people to think outside the box. One of the speakers featured this afternoon started a biking tour group in downtown Detroit that has exploded in popularity and led to a TV commercial for Apple computers.

All speakers at today's event will be featured on the TEDx YouTube channel in about 30 to 45 days. Vavoulis says they've already started talking about potentially holding a 3rd annual next year or something similar.
