Council Revisiting Wallaceburg Boundary

Just a week after shooting down a review of Chatham-Kent ward boundaries and council size, one councillor wants to narrow the issue's scope.

Next week, Carmen McGregor will move that the fringe areas of Wallaceburg be included in Ward 5 (Wallaceburg), instead of Ward 4 (North Kent).

McGregor says this will affect less than 100 people, but is a justifiable move. "When you're dealing with somebody on this side of the street, and you've got four or five houses on the other side in a different ward, it doesn't really make sense. It's the old city limits that designate those original wards in those areas."

McGregor also hints that this motion could include other urban centres that have fringe homes in other wards.
