Crash Leads To Charges

Charges have been laid in the single-vehicle crash that closed a section of Park Ave. W in Chatham.

Police say the driver lost control just before 10:30am Monday morning, and struck a hydro pole, causing live power lines to go down across the road.

No one was injured but damage is estimated at $8,000.

A 29-year-old man from Tilbury only had his G1 licence. He's been charged with careless driving and driving without a qualified passenger.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
