Chatham-Kent police say officers caught up with the man on Raleigh St. yesterday afternoon and took him into custody.
When police were searching him, they found some marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription drugs.
The Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply and two counts of drug possession.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
