Abdullah rushed for over 1,600 yards in the last two seasons and scored 19 touchdowns last year.
As well, the Lions have traded the 88th and 143rd overall picks to Minnesota for the 80th overall pick to get Stanford cornerback Alex Carter.
Day three of the NFL Draft starts on Saturday at 12pm with Rounds 4-7.
