Trustee Waits For Decision

A St. Clair Catholic District School Board trustee had her day in court Thursday but still doesn't know if she'll be successful in retaining her seat.

After being elected to a third term last fall, Michelle Parks lost her seat because she failed to file campaign expense claims on time.

She says a Superior Court Justice in Sarnia isn't sure if he has jurisdiction to rule on her appeal and will do some research.

Parks was referred by divisional court in London and hasn't been able to get a clear answer on her appeal options.

She says a trustee in a similar situation in Sudbury was reinstated following a court ruling this week.

The board has declared Parks seat vacant but is holding off on starting the process of finding a replacement until May 12.
