Council To Finalize Tax Rates

Chatham-Kent Council is set to approve tax rates for 2015.

Although rates will vary from community to community, the average Chatham-Kent residence will pay $2,997 in 2015 taxes.

This is an increase of $1,550,000 total, or 1.13%.

The increase stems from the budget (which constitutes a 0% increase) and assessment growth on the buildings around Chatham-Kent.

Tax due dates are set for August 4 and November 2; the way it's been since 1998.
