Police Briefs - Monday, May 4, 2015

A Sarnia man, who was driving while under suspension, is in more trouble after trying to run from police in Wallaceburg.

Authorities say an officer saw the man driving on Oak St. and tried to stop him, but the 45-year-old pulled into a driveway and ran away.

He was arrested after a short pursuit and charged with two counts of driving while under suspension.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a single vehicle crash on 5th Concession Line after the driver allegedly lost control, left the roadway and ended up in a ditch last night.

The driver and passenger suffered minor injuries and damage to the vehicle is about $20,000.

A 17-year-old Romney Township teen is charged with careless driving.

Twelve drivers were stopped and issued various tickets during a Sunday morning traffic enforcement blitz on Longwoods Rd.

A truck is missing its $1,000 tailgate after someone removed it some time late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

The truck was parked on University Ave. in Wallaceburg. The tailgate says "Sierra" on it and has a 1 ft. scratch on the left side.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
