Vipers Lose Out On Sutherland Cup

The Caledonia Corvairs held on for a 4-3 win over the LaSalle Vipers to take their second straight Sutherland Cup championship.

On Sunday, the Vipers battled to the very end taking a 2-1 lead in the first period, and tying things up 3-3 after the Corvairs made a comeback in the second. However, Caledonia was able to score the game winner in the third period to edge the Vipers.

Vipers Head Coach Bill Bowler says its a heart breaking loss after a hard fought season.

"We played a good hockey game again -- down to the third period and they get the extra goal," he says. "So proud of our guys through. I have no problem finishing second with this group of kids."

The Corvairs won the series 4-2.
