Racers Caught On 401

Chatham-Kent OPP dealt with two high-speed drivers in the same night Friday.

Around 9:30pm, police observed an Infiniti SUV on the westbound Hwy. 401, travelling up to 174 km/h near Charing Cross Rd. A 19-year-old from Toronto has been charged with racing and has a court appearance in June.

Just four hours later, a Chrysler 300 was travelling westbound in the same area, registering a speed of 181 km/h.

When police caught up with the vehicle, they discovered the driver had just a G1 license, and it was suspended twice. Now a 19-year-old from Gloucester faces multiple charges including racing and driving with a suspended license.
