The Ontario Racing Commission is confirming 11 race dates at the Dresden Raceway, starting the last Sunday of May.
Dresden Agricultural Society President Lucille Laprise says the race dates are set to ensure coordination among tracks in Sarnia and Leamington. "There was a meeting held in December, and it was discussed and everybody had a say and this is how it came about," she says. "We will be ready, work hard and diligently and we've got a really fresh enthusiastic group that are willing to move forward."
Laprise says Sundays are traditional race days in Dresden, and the Monday and Wednesday dates will tie in with both Canada Day celebrations and the 140th edition of the Dresden Exhibition over the Civic Holiday Weekend.
Here is the full list of race dates for 2015: May 31, June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 1, 5, 12, 19, 26.
The season wraps up August 3.
