OSPCA Catching Up After Theft

Officials at the Kent Branch of the OSPCA had to scramble this week after someone cut the lock on a shed in an outdoor compound and stole an estimated $500 worth of dog food.

However, Community Relations Coordinator Robyn Brady says once word of the theft got out, donations to replace the missing food started coming in.

"This is a fantastic community for organizations in need, that when they are struggling and when something like this happens, which it does from time to time, the people in this community, business owners and the members of the public step forward in a huge way," she says. "(Some of) the food is used for our outreach program to help people who are struggling to meet the needs of their own pets."

Brady says some of the food taken was for animals with special dietary needs.
