Maroons Set For Mini-Camp

Prospective players for the Chatham Maroons are taking part in a mini-camp today and tomorrow.

Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says close to 60 players are trying out. A select number from that pool of players will be asked to participate in the team's full camp set for August.

Roeszler adds the losses on defence and in goal make this camp that much more important. "We've turned over a lot of our team, so this prospect camp is going to be huge for us." Roeszler says they'll have no issues with forwards: eight of last year's 12 forwards are back for the 2015-2016 season.

The Maroons coach says they've already committed to Great Lakes Junior C MVP Ross Krieger of the Dresden Junior Kings. Roeszler estimates up to 12 players from the minicamp could make their opening day roster.
