Near Record Setting Temps Coming

Hotter than usual temperatures have arrived in the region, and may very well be record setting.

Environment Canada's Peter Kimbell says today's expected high is 28 C (82 F) and tomorrow is set at 30 C (86 F). "Those temperatures are well above normal," says Kimbell. "Normal this time of year would be a high of 19 C (66 F), so we're about ten degrees above normal and close to record territory."

The record high for tomorrow in both Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex was set in 1896 at 30.6 C (87 F). Kimbell attributes the warmer than usual temperatures to a high pressure system over the Great Lakes.
