Police Briefs - Friday, May 8, 2015

A 73-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly hitting a number of parked cars in a lot near Queen St. N and Centre St. E in Tilbury.

Officers tracked down the suspected vehicle and took the driver to police headquarters where tests showed the man was twice the legal limit.

Police say a 49-year-old Blenheim man was almost three times the legal limit when he allegedly came close to striking a police cruiser before running a stop sign.

The incident happened around 11pm last night at the intersection of New Scotland Line and Tecumseh St. in Harwich Township.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
