Twinning French And Canadian Schools

A delegation of French educators is looking to work closely with schools in southwestern Ontario.

They group from the Lille region of France were in Essex County yesterday and in Chatham-Kent today, looking for matches to twin schools in France and Canada.

Ludovic Sauvage says it could mean working together via computer links but also exchanges of students and staff. "The best exchanges, I'm convinced, are exchanges which do not just concern languages," he says. "They have to be led by subjects such as history, science, environment, arts, etc. And these projects are the ones that last."

Lambton Kent Public School Board and St. Clair Catholic District School Board officials say they already do some cultural and educational exchanges and would be happy to take part in more.
