Food Needed In Summer Too

Foodbanks across the country, including those in Chatham-Kent, are participating in an awareness campaign about hunger.

Outreach for Hunger's Brenda LeClair says they see it every day.

"We are trying to raise awareness that there are a lot of people in our community, and in Canada, who are sitting down tonight and their plates are empty, so the name of this campaign is 'Every Plate Full,'" she says. "We talk about adequate food we are talking about nutritious food."

LeClair says warmer weather doesn't always make it easier for everyone to buy food because many are still trying to catch up on utility bills from the winter.
