Police Briefs - May 10, 2015

A woman has been arrested following a car accident in Chatham involving alcohol.

Chatham-Kent police responded to the collision on Van Allen Ave. Saturday around 7:30pm, finding the front end of a car caved in and the hood popped up.

Police found a woman who was very unsteady on her feet and had the odour of alcohol on her breath. She's been released from custody with a future court date.

A Tilbury man is back in custody after breaching bail violations.

Police say they attended a Chatham residence where a man and a woman were having an argument. After determining the man was under the influence, they discovered he was bound by court conditions not to consume alcohol.

Now a 43-year-old man is being held for a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent police also dealt with a disturbance in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 2am, police responded to the O'Neil St. area, where they found an agitated man acting belligerent and showing signs of impairment.

Chatham-Kent police feared the suspect could be a danger to himself, and arrested a 33-year-old Chatham man, holding him in custody until he was sober.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
