Earlier this evening a severe thunderstorm warning also ended for both areas.
Meteorologists said the main threat was wind gusts up to 100 km/h and the possibility of large hail. Windsor Airport reported 91 km/h wind gusts.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
