Road Safety Week Underway

Chatham-Kent police are strictly enforcing traffic laws as part of Canada Road Safety Week.

Constable Mike Pearce says they're targeting all types of offences. "Things like speeding, cell phone use, disobey stop signs and lights, things of that nature. We really want to reduce collisions in our community."

In the last five years, there have been 45 motor vehicle-related deaths in Chatham-Kent.

Canada Road Safety Week runs until Victoria Day.
