Hiring Process For Deputy Chief

The Chatham-Kent Police Service Board is looking within to fill its vacant deputy chief position.

Chair Diane Daly says applications are only being accepted for a short period of time.

"We put out a notice that is posted within the police service, it's two weeks of posting time which is up on May 15," she says. "We are going within our police service here and hoping we can fill that position. If that doesn't happen, we'll go outside."

She says the board will move quickly in putting together a short list for interviews the first week in June.

The position became vacant when Gary Conn was promoted to chief.
