Retrofest Rolls Out Tonight

Classic car enthusiasts will kick off Retrofest in Chatham this weekend with a cruise tonight along the Thames River.

The cruise starts at 6pm at the John D. Bradley Convention Center on Richmond St. in Chatham and is expected to enter the downtown area at around 7pm. Organizers would like to remind drivers that it’s a cruise and not a parade, so cruisers are still required to obey all traffic laws.

The Kent Historic Club Annual Car show starts Saturday at 9am at the corner of King St. W and Fifth St. with participation plaques going out to the first 300 people who register.

In addition to Saturday's show, there will be vendors and a wide range of activities set up in Tecumseh Park, a Soap Box Derby on William St., and live entertainment throughout the day.

Most of the activities associated with the car show will run from 10am-5pm.
