Neighbourhood Improvement Pilot Group Launches

A new neighbourhood improvement group is launching in Chatham.

It covers a four-block radius from Richmond St. heading north to the CN Rail tracks, and from Lacroix St. to Queen St. Mike Grenier with the Chatham Central Neighbourhood Association is hosting a plant exchange.

"We'd like to get all the neighbours out to meet each other," says Grenier. "We just want to establish some communications between neighbours and get people doing things together and maybe some neighbourhood beautification." Free coffee and childrens books will also be offered at Wonderland Park, on the corner of Raleigh St. and Patteson St., from 9-11am.

The pilot project, in conjunction with Chatham-Kent Police, is aimed at improving the safety and wellbeing for residents of the neighbourhood.
