On Friday the municipality announced the pad on Paxton Dr would be down for maintenance, monitoring and testing.
Chatham-Kent officials add the splash pad will become fully accessible once additional work has been completed.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
