Torch Relay Coming To Chatham-Kent

The Pan Am torch relay will make its way through Chatham-Kent on Tuesday, June 16.

Megan Robinson, special event coordinator for the municipality, says the torch will come though Wallaceburg and Chatham.

"We're going to have a mini celebration where the torchbearer is going to stop by in downtown Wallaceburg for a couple minutes there to celebrate with any of the citizens that come down there," says Robinson. "Then they're moving right on to Tecumseh Park in Chatham where we are having a major celebration, the lighting of the cauldron."

More details on the event will be released closer to the date. The Pan Am and Para Pan Games are taking place in Toronto this July and August.
