RetroFest Draws Another Big Crowd

Organizers of RetroFest are crediting good weather for drawing approximately 20,000 people to the downtown Chatham event.

"It was fantastic," says Nancy Labadie with the Downtown Chatham BIA. Labadie says a record number of vehicles took part. "Leaving the Bradley Centre Friday evening, there was over 600 vehicles in the (Dream) Cruise that took place, and that's a huge number for us." She says they typically see about 500 vehicles.

Labadie says early feedback from businesses has been very positive as well.

"A lot of the restaurants were pleased to have people out and about and patronizing their venues and of course there's a lot of people in the downtown, they remember how much fun that they had and they continue to come back throughout the summer months," she says.
