New Medical Professional

Chatham-Kent's board of health has approved the addition of a second epidemiologist.

General Manager of Health and Family Services April Rietdyk says the province is releasing more health information to local officials so there is an opportunity for better prevention.

"Epidemiologists really looks at studying the relationships between medical conditions and their causes," she says. "They do that by collecting and analysing data, to really allow us to implement or change programs and services."

The position is being funded through a provincial program.
