Hot and Humid Summer Coming

Environment Canada is predicting a hot and humid summer for the entire region.

It is expected temperatures will soon reach the 30C mark and stay that way for the majority of June and July.

"We've finally shaken a pattern that was with us through last summer and much of the past winter to be colder than normal, it looks like it's finally starting to break down and there is some indication for much of southern Ontario that this summer will be notably warmer than the one we had last year," says Meteorologist Geoff Coulson. "It should be remembered that while we're talking about an overall temperature we could get some days that will be colder than normal as well."

This week, forecasted highs are between the 24C-26C mark.

However, Coulson says with the heat and humidity comes unpredictable summer storms.

Londoners should be prepared to deal with heavy rains and some minor flash flooding.
