Entegrus says the outage came at around 8pm and was restored by 10:30pm.
Officials say it was a feeder supply issue that caused the outage.
Dresden has a population of just under 2,500 people.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
The $7.6 million project, which also involved water and sewer infrastructure improvements, began in 2024.
