Witnesses Needed After Pedestrian Hit

Anyone who witnessed a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Chatham is being urged to come forward.

Police say a 25-year-old woman was crossing Grand Ave. W, outside of the crosswalk, between Ursuline Ave. and Violet St. around 3:45pm yesterday. That's when a vehicle being driven by a 72-year-old woman struck the pedestrian.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver wasn't hurt.

No charges have been laid at this point.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
