Chatham-Kent police headquarters May 12, 2015. (Photo by Simon Crouch) Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone stole 12 long guns from a residence in the Wheatley area.
Police say the guns have a collective value of about $4,000 and were stolen some time over the past month.
There was no sign of forced entry at the home, but the lockers where the guns were stored appeared to have been pried open.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
