The Dresden Agricultural Society is going to apply for a makeup race date.
Racing at Dresden Raceway was set to open its 11-race season last Sunday, but rain forced the cancellation. Society President Lucille Laprise says they'll consider other race dates at surrounding tracks when they submit their application.
Laprise expects to submit some dates to the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) by the end of the week. She says the application typically takes a couple weeks before they'll hear back, but adds the commission is usually pretty good about issuing an additional race date.
The first race date of the season is now this Sunday at 1:30pm, pending weather conditions.
