Financial Status of Senior Centres

Chatham-Kent Council wants to know exactly what its senior centres need financially.

Ward 2 Councillor Karen Herman says they need concrete numbers to address how to handle each individual centre. "There's a lot of differentiating dollars people are paying for their needs, and it's very difficult for them. You're going to see with this aging population, there are more and more needs."

Herman has motioned to have staff return to council with a detailed report on the current financial state of each individual senior centre.

She adds eight centres have government funding, while three don't.
