KFA Director Cites Challenges

As Local Food Week continues, farmers are taking the opportunity to voice some of the current problems they face.

KFA member Louis Roesch says farmers are in constant discussion with food inspection agencies.

Roesch adds that after five years, they feel they're in a healthy working relationship. "We're 100% behind food safety, and we'll change anything in an instant if it's a food safety issue. But some of their cosmetic issues that wanted every plant exactly the same, didn't work for us."

In addition to food regulations, Roesch adds farmers always combat age-old problems like late frost and potential flooding.
