Threatening To Crash A Car

A 28-year-old man is facing charges after a pair of incidents involving his common-law spouse.

Police say a Chatham woman first told them her common-law husband assaulted her yesterday morning while they were arguing.

During their investigation, officers also learned the woman tried to dial 911 from her cell phone over the weekend when the man was driving erratically, but she hung up when he threatened to crash the car.

A Chatham man is now charged with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
