UPDATE: Police Identify Homicide Victim

Using the victim's fingerprints, Windsor police detectives have identified the man murdered in downtown Windsor as 32-year-old Amir Hayat Malik of Windsor.

Officers taped off a large area around 563 Brant. St. Thursday morning after two electricians found Malik's body near an alley.

Malik was last seen alive Thursday in the 1300 block of Howard Ave. between midnight and 1am. He was found without a shirt, police say, and obvious trauma to his body.

Detective Mark Denonville says Malik was known to police. Currently he says no suspects or persons of interest have been identified. A motive has also not been established yet. "We are currently following up a number of leads," Denonville says.

Denonville says he's unsure if the victim was killed where his body was found. "We`re not able to determine that at this time. The conclusion of the autopsy may help us with that," he says.

Police say an autopsy should be complete Friday in London.
