Five Medals At Wine Competition

A Chatham-Kent winery has won five medals at a major Canadian wine competition.

Early Acres Estate Winery owner Mike Korpan says it's one of the bigger competitions and the judges do blind tastings; they don't know which winery products they are sampling.

"We sent it away to the all Canadian Wine Championship; it's one of the older ones and it is open to all Canadian wineries," he says. "It's very exciting. Success is not just for us, we figure the success is for all Chatham-Kent because it promotes the area, promotes the local."

The wines earned three gold medals and two bronze. The winners were two reds, two whites and a fruit wine.
