Fair Draws Thousands To Chatham

Warm, sunny weather fueled a good turnout at the 70th annual Chatham Kinsmen Fair.

Kinsmen Club President Bob Hughes figures about 4,000 people showed up over the weekend.

"The numbers were up a little from last year, probably by about 700 or 800 people," says Hughes, adding they may be looking at changing it to a festival next year so they can apply for more financial support. "They get huge amounts of funding elsewhere and we, as a fair instead of a festival, don't."

Hughes says they're also reviewing the price of admission after receiving complaints about the $5 entry fee.
