Riding Demonstration At Schools

A couple of performers from the Ultimate Rodeo Tour are spending part of the day demonstrating rope and riding tricks in several area schools.

McKenzie Vollans is a 15-year-old rider from South Woodslee in Essex County and says even though she has been riding all her life, jumping in and out of a saddle while riding the horse was the toughest part about the sport.

"Probably getting over the fear. It is scary at first because you've got the speed; you are dealing with a 1,500 lb animal," she says. "There's hanging tricks where you are hanging off the side of your horse, you can do tricks where you are on top of your horse, there is stuff when you move all around their body. It's just all different techniques you can do."

The Ultimate Rodeo Tour performs in Pain Court July 17 in support of Crime Stoppers.
