UPDATE: Hwy. 401 Re-Opens (GALLERY)

The driver of a tractor trailer has been airlifted to hospital after a serious single-vehicle crash on the 401 Tuesday afternoon.

OPP say around 3pm, a transport truck left the highway. The truck ended up resting on its side about 50m down a hill in the ditch.

Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash. The 63-year-old Windsor driver is currently listed in critical condition in hospital.

Hwy. 401 westbound at Communications Rd. was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
