Transport Drives Wrong Way On 401

No charges were laid after a tractor-trailer was stopped going the wrong way on Hwy. 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Provincial police responded around 3:30pm Monday afternoon to the 401 at Merlin Rd. where they found the transport stopped in the westbound lanes, but facing eastbound.

After talking to the driver, officers determined the near empty trailer was pushed by the wind, catching the shoulder of the highway before crossing through the median. Luckily no one was hurt.

Police conducted a brief slow down and escorted the tractor-trailer back to the correct lanes.
