Heavy Rain Presents Flooding Risk

The region could be in store for more flooding, according to the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority.

Officials say the watershed still has very little capacity to absorb any new rainfall, despite seeing no significant precipitation over the last three days.

With Environment Canada predicting up to 60mm (2.5 inches) of rain expected this weekend, the Authority says localized flooding could occur in low lying areas.

The rainfall amount is not expected to affect either the Thames or Sydenham Rivers. BlackburnNews.com will have the latest on flood watches and warnings as information becomes available.
