Lakeshore Aquatic Centre On Schedule

Phase two of the Atlas Tube Centre build is underway in Lakeshore.

Mayor Tom Bain is happy to see the frame of the $20-million aquatic centre addition already in place, as it's on schedule to open in April of 2016. "We have residents now who are travelling as far as Lighthouse Cove to LaSalle, to use their pools. So these people are really excited about being able to use our local pool, here."

The new aquatic centre will include a four-lane lap pool, a lazy river, a therapeutic pool and shallow area pool.

Outside, a splash pad will be installed, alongside recreational courts, soccer fields and a multi-use trail.
