Sources confirm to BlackburnNews.com that the new mega-hospital will be located at County Rd. 42 and Concession 9, across from Windsor International Airport.
Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj wouldn't confirm the location, but says tomorrow's announcement will be a lot more involved than just one site. "There is so much more than just the new hospital piece that will be announced and even more than what's being circulated now. There is much more to come. It's a whole systems transformation."
Musyj says one of the pieces is a new urgent care centre at the former Grace Hospital site. It will have emergency room doctors treating patients who need emergency care, but may not need to be admitted to hospital.
A media tour for journalists tomorrow will feature five locations, include a site at University Ave. W and Crawford Ave.
Musyj says the hospital plan will also feature a transportation plan for the proposed hospital site.
