Crash Sends Two To Hospital

Chatham-Kent police say it is fortunate there was no other traffic when a Canadian National service truck to leave Keil Dr. and hit a pick-up.

The CN truck was heading south, between Richmond St. and Park Ave. about 11:30 when it veered off the roadway and hit the front of a pick-up that was leaving a parking lot.

The pick-up was spun around, the bigger truck kept going and hit the support wire on a hydro pole, crossed all four lanes and then went through a utility switch box and cleared out a section of fence.

It finally came to rest in a field.

Police believe the driver had some sort of medical issue. He was taken to hospital as was the driver of the pick-up as a precaution.
